Ayagasa Boko (綾傘鉾) childPosted by MShades (Kyoto, Japan) on 3 September 2008 in People & Portrait. Ayagasa Boko dates back to the fifteenth century, and has changed forms many times. It's been a shoulder-mounted float as well as a wheeled one, but has always had this kind of parasol shape to it. One nice addition to this hoko is the presence of masked dancers and musicians.
